What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH)?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a type of ‘talking therapy’, that combines the use of psychotherapy with hypnosis. Hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very natural, relaxing state, encouraged by using guided relaxation, where the mind can relax and then focus on thoughts and suggestions that might be useful. As a modern psychotherapeutic approach, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses practical, structured, and well-researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time. Crucially, in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, therapists look at what the client wants to achieve (the solution) rather than at whatever prompted them to seek help (the problem).
I will introduce myself and we will spend some time getting to know each other. We will discuss what you want to achieve from therapy. I will note down some general background and medical information.
I will then explain to you how your brain works and how we use hypnosis to help us move forward. These explanations form the foundations for all that we will do as we go forward. You will be introduced to simple tools and techniques that you can start to use straight away to start making really positive steps to achieving your goals. It is amazing how many of my clients find this session enlightening and rewarding. At the end of the initial consultation I will give you a mp3 to listen to each night before you go to bed which will help with the process.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process, we focus on the positive changes that are most important to you without dwelling on past problems. The solution focused approach helps you move forwards and create positive change in a relatively short period of time.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions needed will vary, for example: treatment of phobias would usually require 3 sessions, treatment of depression or anxiety may require approximately 5 – 10 sessions. Anti-smoking – a single session. Reach out today for more information on how I can help you.
